THE TIME MACHINE

“You will come back before you leave”

I’m always fascinated by watching science fiction movies showing unbelievable phenomenon resulting to expand our imagination and break our conscious reality. Many of those science fiction movies have some touch of futuristic views of the world and of the universe. Say for instances are the Star wars, war of worlds, the planet of the apes and many more.

In the movie “The Time Machine” by the famous H.G. Wells, it was shown that there was a man who invented a very sensitive time machine, the man traveled both to his past and his future, and he had the ability to choose what particular time he would like. The story expressed in an artistic way but the concept of time machine was actually highlighted. This maybe a hope for the future of Mr. Wells in writing that story .Well perhaps, his work is actually the realization of time machine, his imagination actually leaped many centuries ahead to create a far by-product of science and technology.

Time machine is one of the concepts anchored on the theory of relativity coined by Albert Einstein. According to Einstein, all motions are relative. He said that space and time are inter-related to each other such that time is no longer uniform and absolute and can be curved as we travel in space depending on the velocity or the speed of motion in a certain direction. According to him, we can only escape from the regular ticking of the clock if we could travel close in a speed of light which is 186,000 miles/sec. but how can we comply to it if our fastest engine could only run up to a 378 miles/sec. This notion is presently impractical due to our latest technology, and as of now, only Superman could make it. But it’s very sad to say that he only lives in our minds.

                Time machine has very interesting impact on global society. It is so obvious that people have developed curiosity looking after the benefits of this machine. The primary advantage of it is in the great innovation of technology. That all the impossibilities of today will make so easy. We can be tourists of time, traveling in a river of universe and can see the different pictures of our natural world. We could see ourselves in the past and in the future. Oh, how glad to see my parents when they were still children in age like me. Well, therefore, present will not always be real but like dreams where our body could easily be shifted from one time to another.

                There are many physicists who pursued the task of making time machine. And I was shocked to know that an American theoretical Physicist Ronald Mallett has able to create it. It was year 2005 when he claimed that he has invented a real time machine. This time machine was generally composed of ring lasers keenly arranged in frames which according to him could make a strong gravitational field of a circulating cylinder of light resulting to make bending of time. But there’s one problem they are thinking and that is who will be the one who is willing to try the machine and navigate the future or the past, which can also report information back to the present.

                As we come through 21st century, it is not possible that many innovations in science and technology will come successful including time machine. Time machine has a very deep anchor on the fundamental principles of our natural world, it can be compared to a hope for an electric bulb of Mr. Thomas Edison that for a thousand times had been failures but became his invention.

                Time machine can be so blur as of our present time, but who knows if someday one of the scientists can possibly try and improve the time machine. And if so, then Mr. Wells story of time machine will not be a science fiction anymore but a real story of the near future.
