SALT AND HUMANS

Hello guys, Awhile ago i was administering the mastery examination of my grade 11 students. As they answer their assessment, I saw a book entitled "What A Man Should know about God", I was attracted to read the book as it was just stored in a pile of boxes. As i glanced each page, i come across a page that says this particular verse, Matthew 5: 13 says that "People are the salt of the Earth, and the salt within us shall be restored."it was so strange that God compared us to salt. Then, i had a little silence and thought of the qualities of salt that can relate to humans. Here are some.

1. Crystalline form
Salt is a white and crystalline substance which makes it unique and bizarre.
Human beings are originally pure in terms of our mind, body and emotion. It is our environment which made a bigger impact on seemingly decrystallization or our nature. Salt became crystals because of its combining  chemical composition. Humans are also what constitutes him. we are what we eat, think and do. If we choose practices or thinking that is pure, then, we are trying to crystallize ourselves.

2. Makes a difference
When we taste salt. We had a sensation. We put salt into many materials like foods to add some flavor which makes it one of the most important condiments in the kitchen. Without it, a perfect dish cannot be completed.
We can also put salt into some flavor to neutralize or improve the taste, for instance, a very sour dish can be made a little sweeter when you add salt. salt is a changer, a sign of hope. A potential to make a difference.

3. They are multitude
Salts are seemingly infinite. No one has ever counted the number of salt in the ocean. It is impossible to tell its total number for its multitude. Like Salt, people are blessed in the same way, we occupy a large space in our ecosystem and we also had the greater influence to make things better.

4. Easily dissolved and solidify.
Salt is a flexible substance. It can undergo changes without loosing its content, they maybe malformed, or its content may be separated but the presence of salt has not perished. Salt is Tenacious as well, a very small substance which can survive many phase changes.
Humans. in the same way, are flexible and tenacious. We are designed to overcome things as we evolutionary adapt and being nurtured in the environment.

As humans, being like salt is a challenge, change is inevitable and we are not so ready or welcoming to such change. We often say that we are only humans and cannot do great things. but hey, Salt has made a difference already. There can be more from YOU! =)
