A Dead Star

By John Derson Herbolario

He thought of a light blazing.
A bright glowing gas, dazzling.
He saw her once passing,
And believe the world was her.

He walked further and near her,
She glows and glistens gently.
He felt the heat she emanates,
Warm as a star in alphacentauri.

He tried to reach her by hand,
But myriads of miles stuck the lad.
He asked questions out so loud.
Why cant she come nearer, he cries.

His hand was calloused and dry,
Reaching the star so up high.
The star started to turn him fry,
But he stayed till his hand drop-tired.

The star remained glowing...
Up in the space, away, moving.
Then the hand of the lad feels cold,
as the star goes far, his hands fold.

The man is no longer asking.
He knows that gravity is in steer
The star was part of a galaxy,
And there are scads of galaxy in space.

A man thought of a light blazing,
A bright glowing gas, dazzling.
He saw her once passing.
But now his world was no longer her.
